To prove for yourself

To be confident in

approved

Knowledgable, wise, understanding
Believing, trustworthy, faithful
Converted, transformed

unto God,

With God as your judge
To God's holy standard
As a witness for God's love and power
Not for self-glorification
Not for personal gain
Not for the approval of others
For God's glory alone

Christ, through Paul's counsel to Timothy, is urging us to enter into a deeper relationship with Him, in which He can train (transform) us in discipleship and service.

The Christian life does require a willingness (daily choice) to follow Christ, but the saving in the process is all His doing.
