Greek root: orthotomounta
ortho = right, proper
tomounta = to cut
Literally: "To cut straight" or "To accurately handle"
To correctly understand (hear) AND to properly apply (do).
Apply: use the Word of Truth - the "Sword" of the Spirit - to cut straight
To "cut straight" the Word itself for correct understanding
Also, to "cut straight" our sinful nature by using the Word properly
i.e., to "cut sin straight out" of our sinful nature
Being sanctified (made pure, holy) by the Word of Truth.

So, "rightly dividing" the Word of Truth is not so much about "analyzing" Bible passages, it's more about "living" what the Bible says. ??

Yes, but in order to "live" the Bible, you need to study it and understand what it really says.

And, in order to really understand what the Bible says, you need to try "living" it - putting your understanding into action, testing it, learning by experience!

Yes, that is the process of sanctification by the grace of God > Study it, Live it (repeat) -- always trusting in Jesus to give you better understanding and greater power to be and live more and more Christ-like.
