"Rightly dividing the word of truth" is NOT:

Some Christians mistakingly use "rightly dividing" to support the false teaching that we are to take the Word of God and somehow separate passages and determine for whom or for what time (dispensation) the various passages apply.
Some Christians "rightly divide" (apply) the Word of God in defense of their sins, rather than to slay their sins.
The worse example of wrongly dividing (distorting, abusing) God's Word is to justify persecution or war and claiming that such atrocities are "in the name" (by the authority) of God.
All unbiblical beliefs violate and subvert God's truth, and weaponizing the truth is most abhorrent of all.
