Who bare record of the word of God,
  • Who = John
  • bare record = witnessed and documented
  • the word of God = This phrase in this context refers to "The Revelation of Jesus Christ"
And of the testimony of Jesus Christ,
  • the testimony of Jesus Christ = This phrase in this context refers to "The Revelation of Jesus Christ"
And of all things that he saw.
  • all things that he saw = This phrase in this context refers to "The Revelation of Jesus Christ"
  • he = John
  • saw = was shown in vision
Note: All 3 phrases in this verse refer to "The Revelation of Jesus Christ" which was identified and tracked in verse 1:1, but John uses different names for it in this verse as it passes through its "chain of custody/command."
  • When it is at the Godhead, it is called "The Word of God."
  • After being appointed to God the Son, it is called "The Testimony of Jesus Christ."
  • When given to Christ's angel (Gabriel), it is referred to as "it." (He, Jesus Christ, sent and signified "it" by His angel...)
  • When given to John, "it" was in the form of a vision and is referred to as "all things that he (John) saw."
  • Finally, when delivered to all believers in written form, it is titled: "The Revelation of Jesus Christ"."
  • To be best understood, we are to visualize these written "things" in our mind's eye. (To "show" unto His servants.)

1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
