Revelation 2:9 > I Know Thy Works

2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

I know thy works,

• ​​I = Jesus Christ
• know = am aware of, understand, am vigilant over
• thy = the church's (or each individual member's)
• works = actions, behaviors

and tribulation,

• ​severe affliction; distresses of life > particularly: difficulties and distresses due to religious persecution

and poverty,

• ​lack of money; destitution of property; indigence; deficient in means of subsistence.

(but thou art rich)

• ​(although poor financially, you are rich spiritually)
• rich = highly endowed with the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance) > particularly: rich in faith to persevere under religious oppression
  

and I know the blasphemy

• ​I = Jesus Christ
• know = am aware of, understand, empathize (from personal experience)
• blasphemy = (Definition #2) words or actions that are reproachful, contemptuous or irreverent against God; denying that which is due and belonging to God; or attributing to God that which is not agreeable to His nature. (Also, blasphemy was often used to denote simply the blaming or condemning of a person or thing, in this case, the true believers and/or Biblical teachings.)

of them which say they are Jews,​

• of = from, by
• them, they = the false believers
• say = claim, profess
• Jews = Christ's, the chosen of God, true believers, converted to Christianity
• + Galations 3:29

and are not (true believers), but are the synagogue of Satan.

• ​are = belong to
• synagogue = church, group of believers
• of Satan = NOT of God
